At the invitation of the Mobilier national, Louis-Marie Vincent, in collaboration with designer Thierry Bétancourt, transformed a neglected Louis XV commode into a contemporary sculptural work inspired by Baroque clouds.
A vast cloud shaped in Lunépière, a material whose formula was developed by Louis-Marie Vincent from textile fibers, recycled papers, and other undisclosed components, envelops almost the entire piece, as though withdrawing it from view.
Inspired by the figure of Aeolus, god of the winds, an invisible breath nevertheless appears to unveil part of the commode, gradually revealing its original structure.
Between disappearance and revelation, La Rêveuse blurs the boundaries between heritage furniture, sculpture, and contemporary creation.
The commode GME 18748, now entitled La Rêveuse, has entered the collections of the Mobilier national at La Galerie des Gobelins in Paris.
