The UCHH console in Minéral d’Art was born from a dialogue between the creative vision of Charles Tassin, interior architect and co-founder of GALERIE MAY (rue de Lille, Paris), and the craftsmanship of Louis-Marie Vincent.
Charles Tassin drew inspiration from the work of the Florentine Renaissance painter Paolo Uccello, and more specifically from The Battle of San Romano (1456–1460), in which the powerful graphic interplay of horses, armor, and lances creates a composition of striking formal tension.
The console translates this energy into volume: at once monumental and animalistic, medieval and futuristic, it combines sculptural force with unexpected structural lightness. Conceived as a functional sculpture, it asserts a strong architectural presence while preserving its intended use.
Executed in Minéral d’Art, an artistic material developed within MAISON LOUIS-MARIE VINCENT and derived from the revalorization of textile fibers and paper combined with mineral compounds, the piece embodies a dialogue between cultural heritage, material innovation, and contemporary expression.
