After being exhibited at the Hôtel de la Marine during Paris Design Week, the Minos mirror, designed by Jérémy Pradier-Jeauneau, is currently on display at PAD London. A beautiful collaboration has been born between Jérémy Pradier-Jeauneau and Maison Louis-Marie Vincent.
Parisian gallery owner Jérémy Pradier-Jeauneau, whom we asked to create a mirror using our favorite materials, carton-pierre with a shagreen texture on the back, covered with cold metallization with a brass finish for the horn and a parchment-covered base, appreciates our multi-material expertise and our bold and refined carton-pierre technique.

The UCHH console table in carton-pierre is the result of a wonderful collaboration between the creative talent of Charles Tassin, interior designer and founder, with Maylis Tassin, of GALERIE MAY on Rue de Lille in Paris, and the expertise of the artist Louis-Marie Vincent.

Charles Tassin was inspired by the works of the Florentine Renaissance painter Paolo Uccello, and more specifically by his masterpiece “The Battle of San Romano,” painted between 1456 and 1460, depicting the battle between Florence and Siena in 1432, where the graphic power blends horses with armor and lances.

This console table is both imposing and animalistic, medieval and futuristic, massive and light. Light, just like its material, carton-pierre, which is an eco-friendly material made from paper and textile waste. This technique, used since the 18th century in the decorations of the Palace of Versailles, made it possible to create decorative elements such as moldings and sculptures from textile fibers, paper, and/or cardboard mixed with mineral powders and natural glues.

The UCHH console table is currently on display at 23-34 rue de Lille, Paris 7th arrondissement.

Around forgotten pieces of furniture with little heritage value, the idea of innovative research developed, based on an eco-responsible approach of respect and reuse of materials.

Commissioned by the Mobilier National, which gave carte blanche to transform the GME 13896 chest of drawers, known as the “alienated” chest, made of rosewood and gilded bronze in the Louis XV style, embellished with a red Languedoc marble top, Thierry Bétancourt and Louis-Marie Vincent imagined an enormous cloud created using the technique of carton-pierre, revisited by Maison Louis-Marie Vincent in its workshops, covering almost the entire chest of drawers.

This technique was used at the Palace of Versailles in the 18th century for theater sets and ceiling moldings.

On display from June 10 to 21 at Les Gobelins, this chest of drawers is now called “La Rêveuse” and has found its place in the Mobilier National collections.
