The creation of an incredible console table in carton-pierre, the fruit of the creative talents of Charles Tassin, interior designer and founder with Maylis Tassin of GALERIE MAY, rue de Lille in Paris, and the expertise of Louis-Marie Vincent.
Charles Tassin was inspired by the works of Renaissance Florentine painter Paolo Uccello, and more specifically by his masterpiece “The Battle of San Romano”, painted between 1456 and 1460, pitting Florence against Siena in 1432, where the graphic power of horses, armor and spears are combined.
This console is both imposing and animal, medieval and futuristic, massive and light. Light, like its material, the carton-pierre.
Carton-pierre, the material used for this piece of sculptural furniture, is an ecological material made from waste paper and textiles. This technique, used since the 18th century in the decor of the Château de Versailles, enabled decorative elements such as moldings and sculptures to be created from textile fibers, paper and/or cardboard mixed with mineral powders and natural glues.
